Below are monthly reminders for PhD students:

Fall & Winter

A week before the Fall semester

• Enroll in at least 1 credit of coursework (unless you are about to be advanced to candidacy)
• Enroll in 0 credits of LIN 600 (unless you are about to be advanced to candidacy)
• Incoming orientation and Welcome (Back)! party

Day 5 of Fall semester

• G4 students: Last day to advance to candidacy

Friday of week 2 of the Fall semester

• G3 students: must be enrolled in 9 or 12 credits
• G4 and G5 students: must be enrolled in exactly 12 credits

November

• Travel reimbursement form distributed for Fall cycle
• Form for Spring TAing preferences distributed

End of Fall semester

• 4th year students: notify GPD of tentative dissertation topic and committee
• Faculty meets for winter evaluations
• TA assignments are finalized
